When can babies start eating Puffs?

Babies and toddlers can start eating puffs when they can sit independently, use pincer grasp to self feed, crawl with their stomach off the ground, use their jaws to mash food between gums, typically around 7 months and up.

How are the Grain Free Puffs made?

Our Grain Free Puffs are made through a food processing method called extrusion. It’s when soft mixed ingredients are forced through a small opening with high air pressure and high temperature to produce a desired shape, in our case - stars! Our puffs then go through a short drying step to remove excess moisture in order to get them to the desired texture. Then, we spray them with organic olive oil for healthy fats and dust them with the organic dehydrated vegetable seasoning blend. They are sent off to a secondary drying step before being packaged and sealed for freshness.

Is there a possibility of allergen or cross contact?

Our Carrot Beet, Pumpkin Cinnamon, Broccoli Spinach, and Tomato Herb Grain Free Puffs are allergen-free. While milk, egg, soy, fish, wheat, gluten, and tree-nuts (almond and coconut) are used on the same system at different times, the line is thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and dried before our production run. Our White Cheddar Grain Free Puffs do contain milk and are run on the same systems as our other puffs. We abide by the highest food safety protocols and regulatory requirements which include running allergens at entirely separate times, with the line thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and dried before and after the run. As well as ensuring all ingredients are stored in separate and sealed bins, and only opened in a sterile environment away from other ingredients.

Easy to eat

I got these for my 6 month old and he’s able to eat them with no issue. He loves when I dip them in some of the pouch foods and “stick” them to his tray.

My 2yo also loves to steal them and doesn’t care that they are only very lightly flavored. 😂

Baby refuses new recipe

My baby used to love these and now refuses them. I’m not sure if it’s the new recipe. She was begging for them but after I opened the package she took one puff and spit it out and tried to throw the whole container! Won’t go near them now.

FAQ

Are the canisters recyclable? Why is the label not recyclable?+

Yes, our canister can be recycled in a standard plastic recycling bin after the outside label is taken off with the easy to remove perforation tear away. We are working on other options so that we can make the entire packaging recyclable in the future.

How long will a canister last? How long is it good for when opened?+

Unopened, a can will last up to nine months from the date of production. Expiration date is listed on the bottom of the can. We recommend six servings per container, 1/3 cup per serving, and that your little one (or you!) consumes the canister within 5-7 days of opening it for maximum freshness.

What temperature do these need to be stored at? Can you freeze them? What happens if left in a hot car?+

We recommend storing our Grain Free Puffs at room temperature. If you choose to refrigerate them, we recommend an airtight container. If the container is not airtight while refrigerated, the puffs could absorb moisture and go stale quicker. While leaving them in a hot car will not affect the safety of consumption, it could degrade the quality quick.

Do they need to have teeth? Is it a choking hazard?+

Our Grain Free Puffs are 16-18mm in diameter and they are safe to consume for babies and toddlers per the industry standard. Our puffs begin to dissolve when they interact with saliva, so no teeth are needed to eat them. However, with all foods, we recommend that a child not be left unattended while feeding.
